An Alternative to Replacing Printer Cartridges

By Andrew Kelly

Is it just me, or does it seem outrageous that some printer cartridges cost more than $30? And that's just for one cartridge. You then have to buy a second one for black ink -which hopefully is somewhat less expensive than the color ink cartridge.

One way to save some money on printer cartridges is to buy refurbished cartridges. There are many websites online where you can find this type of ink cartridge for your computer printer. There is even one company that consists of monks who refill and refurbish printer cartridges.

That's right, Laser Monks (http://www.lasermonks.com) saves people money on various kinds of office supplies. They also contribute to various charities and work to better their community. Order refurbished printer cartridges online and submit a prayer request for world peace while you're at it. The Laser Monks accept prayer request via email. Just click on the prayer request link at the top right corner of the site.

While refurbished ink cartridges allow you to cut down on replacement ink costs quite a bit, you can also go one step further and refurbish them yourself. You can purchase ink replacement kits at most office and general home stores for less than $10. These kits come in black and color and will fill both your black and color cartridges several times. The black ink replacement kits come with a bottle of black ink and refilling the cartridge is as simple as poking a hole in the top and squirting new ink in. Color kits tend to be a little more expensive and come with three colors as well as a 'cracker' tool to open your color printer cartridge to access the three individual ink wells.
